Amy Sousa, PhD, Senior Research Analyst at The Hartman Group reports on a recent study which finds that organics have fully entered the mainstream, with 75% of consumers saying they've bought them in the last three months. Over one third of consumers buy organics on a monthly basis. Organic is no longer something in the fringe of culture--it's about how Americans eat today. In a major shift, as organic foods become more mainstream, consumer are beginning to delink the term "organic" from "healthy" because more and more organics are processed foods.
